OutdoorInAsia (OIA) started as the first travel adventure center in South East Asia in 2001 and ended becoming a leading MICE event organiser (MICE stands for Meetings. Incentive, Conferences and Events). Often seen as a pioneer and a disrupter in the MICE landscapes, OIA is now morphing into a technology enabler . Who is OutdoorinAsia ? we share about our history, our vision and our mission and how it evolves through time while keeping to its core philosophy of the human adventure.

Throughout its history OutdoorinAsia reinvented themselves at least 3 times over more than 2 decades: between 2001 and 2013 OIA established the first regional destination management for teambuilding. From 2014 onwards, OIA established the importance of meeting engagement as a core MICE component.

Today in 2021, OIA reposition themselves as a technology enabler helping create digital human-centered customer experience. As we re-think and reinvente corporate events booking and planning through a fully digitalised experience without ever losing the service-oriented “human touch”.

Our vision for OIA today is to become an enabler for corporate events, group or school travels and MICE event professionals. We are bridging between Asia and Europe and support the South East Asian MICE Ecosystem.

OIA started in 2001 as the first Asian Adventure Center and evolved through the decade as a MICE provider, with a focus on content-rich, human-engagement-focused activity planner.

Primarily through the creation and aggregation of teambuilding, team- or tour-based activities, OIA was soon known as the leading provider of exciting teambuilding in the region, both to corporates as well as to travel agents and DMCS (Destination Management Companies)

During the 2010’s: opening up to broader range of educational services

Past 2008 major financial crisis, OIA was on its way to move up the value chain for MICE content… becoming a unique Asian EDUCATION Destination Management Company (DMC). and supporting client organizations in the domains of Organizational Learning and well-being.

Step by step we built the pillars of a true SAVE Travel in Asia: an organisation dedicated to Scientific, Academic, Volunteer, and Educational (SAVE) travel.

OIA became a leading provider of CREATIVE ENGAGEMENT solutions for Corporates and Youth: From Lego Serious Play™, to Corporate ZiPoPo Play Out™ and Stage Up™, from our large catalogue of teambuilding, CSR programs or thematic tours, across SEA destinations and for small up to very large groups. Our strength lies in the design of our programs and syllabus, creating meaningful fun and authentic life-experience for the participants.

Our expertise in experiential learning and tourism has always be a bowl of fresh air to the MICE industry in Asia – in the form of conferences, retreats, teambuilding or specific training and CSR initiatives. It is also contributed to a renewed educational landscape, aligned with XXI century education principles and what has been termed the Education Revolution.
